Forex Forums Review

General information about the forum

ForexForums.com is actually dedicated to a forum, but it’s structure is rather unusual. Though it may seem that the website contains only a forum, there are also Forex articles and a so-called blog (it’s page doesn’t open). However the front page features a lot more information about the forum than about any other services.
The forum is powered by: vBulletin Version 3.0.5.

Posting frequency

There are 235 threads and 342 posts on the forum (of course, these numbers will increase). The ratio is rather strange, because the number of posts is usually at least twice as big as the number of threads. So, such a small number of posts means that there are lots of topics, but they are not widely discussed.
Posting frequency can be characterized as low – there are about 2-4 new messages a day, but sometimes there are no new posts at all.

Users

The total number of registered users is 302. Most users ever online was 39, 07-01-2004 at 08:37 PM.
Out of these 302 users about 40 are more or less active.
Thus, the the forum is not very active.

Moderation

It is impossible to tell anything about moderators, because their nicknames are not mentioned anywhere. It is also hard to say whether they exist or not, because some threads on the forum can be considered as flood (and it would mean that moderators either do not exist or don’t work properly) as well as topic-related threads, which should’t be deleted. These are mainly different Forex websites advertisements.
Becides, there are lots of “dead” threads, which should be either moved to special sections or deleted.

Structure

The structure of the forum is not very smart. There are 3 sections and 4 subsections, all of which are too general and contain numerous threads. It is not good because a first-time visitors will easily get lost or post similar threads. Decides, there’s no need to make subsections if they are not at least 2 times as many as sections.
The sections are: “Community” with “Introduce Yourself ” and “General Discussions”, “Forex” with “Forex Forum” and finally “Advertising Forums” with “Forex Ads”. Reverting to moderation, it’s necessary to mention, that ads are posted not only in “Forex Ads’ but also in “General Discussion” which teems with countless threads about everything and nothing is moved to the proper section.

Disadvantages

  • The structure of the forum is bad.
  • It seems that the website was fabricated just “to make a website”
